July 27, 2007 -- Serbia's Supreme Court today upheld the sentences for former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic's paramilitary commander and six other convicts.
Milorad Ulemek, the leader of the group, and six other men have been sentenced from two to 40 years in prison for the 2003 assassination of former Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, the killing of former President Ivan Stambulic in 2000, and for the attempted murder of former opposition leader Vuk Draskovic.
The ruling means that the seven can no longer appeal.
