July 30, 2007 -- Kazakhstan threatened to reexamine its contract to develop the Kashagan oil field, following the Italian oil company Eni's decision to delay its launch.
Eni announced last week that it would start production in 2010, instead of 2008.
It is the second time the company has postponed the date, which was originally set for 2005.
Kashagan, located in the northeast of the Caspian Sea, is considered one of the world's largest oil fields.
