Reports: Russia To Deploy New Intercontinental Missiles

The deployments are part of President Vladimir Putin's program to modernize defenses, and come amid strained ties between Russia and NATO over U.S. plans to deploy parts of a missile shield in Central and Eastern Europe.

Reports say the Topol-M mobile missiles, which carry a single warhead, will be deployed in Teikovo about 240 kilometers northeast of Moscow. No details have been given for the number of missiles, however.
