September 5, 2007 -- Georgia's Defense Ministry says it has launched a new military television channel intended to boost the nation's "patriotic spirit."
Ministry spokeswoman Nana Intskirveli said the channel, called "Georgia," is broadcasting films and educational programs on military, patriotic, and historical themes.
The channel is part of a broader campaign to raise the military's profile in Georgia, which is eager to join the Western-led NATO military alliance.
