KABUL, October 8, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- The Afghan government has executed up to 15 people for various crimes, including murder and kidnappings, RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan reports.
Government officials confirmed the executions in Kabul's central prison but did not say whether the group included members of the Taliban militia.
Our correspondent in Kabul says it is the first time a group of convicts has been executed en masse since the collapse of the Taliban regime in late 2001 and the establishment of the new government.
