Moscow, July 17 (RFE/RL) -- Russian Interior Ministry officials say Moscow's Vnukovo-1 airport has now resumed normal operations following a three-hour suspension of all departures in response to a telephoned bomb threat.
An anonymous caller phoned the airport earlier this morning saying an explosive device had been planted in the airport terminal and would explode in 40 minutes.
Police evacuated the terminal and conducted a search. No device was found and the deadline passed without incident. Departures were delayed and passengers on incoming flights had to remain on board their aircraft until the all clear was given.
Vnukovo is one of Moscow's four major airports and operates flights to the Caucasus and other destinations. The bomb threat follows two explosions aboard Moscow trolleybuses last week.
