Bishkek, 11 April 1997 (RFE/RL) - The vice president of the American Santa Fe Corporation has signed an agreement with the president of the Kyrgyz state gold company, Kyrgyzaltyn, to begin a joint venture mining project at the Solton-Sary gold deposit.
Under the terms of the agreement, the American company will invest $42.3 million in the project between 1997-2000.
