Kyiv, 25 July 2002 (RFE/RL) -- Ukraine's Supreme Court says it has ordered a new investigation into the murder of investigative reporter Ihor Oleksandrov, who was killed last July. A court spokesman said today that judges overruled a decision by a regional court to acquit a man suspected of killing the reporter on a lack of evidence. He said the court reopened the case into the death of the former private television and radio station boss.
Oleksandrov, who was beaten to death by four men with baseball bats last July, had sought to expose corruption in Ukraine's industrial east.
