A strong earthquake rattled the Caucasus mountains region on October 11, leaving at least four people dead and disrupting communications in the Russian province of Chechnya.
Reuters reported that four victims were killed in the Chechen town of Kurchaloi, close to the capital Grozny.
In addition to Chechnya, the earthquake also was felt in the Russian provinces of Daghestan, North Ossetia, Ingushetia, and in the Stavropol region. But there were no reports of major damage there.
The quake was also felt in Georgia and Armenia.
