Mystery Men Aid In Detention Of Opposition Leaders

Boris Nemtsov, a leader of the opposition movement Solidarity, protested alone -- and legally -- on November 16. - His sign reads "Freedom for Eduard Limonov." The protest took place outside the detention center where Limonov was being held on a 10-day sentence.

Nemtsov was soon joined by two men covering their faces.

Police arrived to detain Nemtsov for his participation in an unsanctioned gathering of three.

Nemtsov was detained but released later the same day.

Another opposition activist, Vladimir Milov, soon began his own one-man protest.

The same two men joined Milov in his demonstration -- but they remained free after Milov was detained.

Aleksandr Ryklin took up the solitary post, demanding Eduard Limonov's release.

When asked why they were covering their faces, the two additional demonstrators said they were "extremists."

Finally, Sergei Zhavoronkov began his own protest...

...and was joined by the "extremists" before the police broke up the demonstration.
