Jarkynai is an ethnic Kyrgyz; her husband, Mirzahid, is an ethnic Uzbek. Together, they run a minibus service that visits the neighborhoods of both groups in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh. Although the city remains tense after the deadly ethnic clashes in June, the couple says their small business sets an example for reconciliation.
