Silhouette of a convicted man, Mahdi Faraji, is seen while he is being hanged in the city of Qazvin, 130 kilometers west of the Iranian capital, Tehran, on May 26. Iran's official news agency reported that five prisoners were hanged in public, including a convicted serial killer. The others had been found guilty of rape and armed robbery. This brought the number of executions to 130 since the beginning of the year.
