Violence Erupts In Athens Over Austerity Vote

Protesters clashed with police in the Greek capital as lawmakers passed a new austerity package of spending cuts and increased taxes. Police fired tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, some of whom threw Molotov cocktails and stones and set fire to buildings. At least 30 protesters were detained and many on both sides were wounded.
