A suicide bomber attacked a mosque in northern Afghanistan on October 26, killing at least 40 people and wounding dozens more. The bomber set off his explosives at the main gate to the mosque, where people were gathering for prayer during the Eid al-Adha festival. In Kabul, President Hamid Karzai condemned the attack, calling on Taliban militants to stop the destruction of their own country. (Reuters)
