Uzbek and Kyrgyz officials are issuing mutual accusations over an outbreak of violence in the Uzbek exclave of Sokh, located inside Kyrgyzstan's southern region of Batken. Clashes erupted on January 5 and 6 between Kyrgyz border guards and Sokh residents, who took dozens of Kyrgyz citizens hostage. All were released by January 7.
