South Africans held a candlelight vigil outside a Pretoria hospital and offered messages of support for former President Nelson Mandela, whose condition remains critical. A spokesman said that Mandela's health had deteriorated overnight. The 94-year-old former leader, South Africa's first black president, was hospitalized for a lung infection some three weeks ago, and has been receiving visits from relatives and officials. (Reuters)
