Ukrainian Activists Protest Visit By Putin, Patriarch

Dozens of anti-Russian protesters took to the streets of Kyiv on July 27 to denounce the visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill. Protesters chanted "Shame!" as a motorcade passed by carrying the visitors, while others held signs denouncing Russian imperialism. Several separate anti-Russian protests took place throughout Kyiv as celebrations were under way for the 1,025th anniversary of the baptism of Kievan Rus. (RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service)
