Kyrgyz President Welcomes Leaders At SCO Summit

Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev welcomed visiting leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization states at the group's summit in Bishkek. The presidents of the SCO member states -- Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgzystan -- along with the presidents of observer states Afghanistan, Iran, and Mongolia and delegations from India and Pakistan are meeting for a summit aimed at fostering economic development and regional security cooperation.
