Ukrainian journalists and activists held a protest in Kyiv calling for the authorities to identify those behind the murder and beheading of critical journalist Heorhiy Gongadze, on the 13th anniversary of his disappearance in 2000. The perpetrator was jailed for life in January, but the protesters demanded the imprisonment of former government officials, including former President Leonid Kuchma and his chief of staff, Volodymyr Lytvyn, who they believe were involved in the journalist's death.
