Female Ukrainian Deputies Call For Teteruk's Resignation

A group of women lawmakers from different parties in Ukraine came together this week to call for the resignation of a male colleague amid accusations that he struck a female parliamentarian with a bottle during an argument. Olha Chervakova, a lawmaker from President Petro Poroshenko's Bloc led the initiative by demanding that People's Front party deputy head Andriy Teteruk "voluntarily give up his seat" over the "shameful and "unacceptable attack on a 62-year-old woman." She also demanded that an investigation be conducted and that Teteruk's parliamentary immunity be lifted. She was subsequently joined at the podium by other female deputies of all political hues. (at 1:05 mins). Oleksandra Kuzhel, a deputy from Yulia Tymoshenko's Fatherland party, suffered a black eye and concussion in the altercation.
