BRUSSELS -- Afghan Interior Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar says he is ready to start radical reforms in his country.
Atmar told RFE/RL on December 10 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels that in several weeks he will announce new leadership in Afghan police structures.
Atmar said that all Afghan citizens should be equal before the law and the first step in the "real reforms" is to clean up the police by fighting corruption.
Atmar was named interior minister less than two months ago.
