At Least 13 Killed By Iraq Car Bomb

Iraqi security officials say a car bomb near a mosque in the central Iraqi city of Baquba killed at least 13 people and wounded 26 on July 21.

The explosion occurred near the Husseiniyah mosque in the predominantly Shi'ite district of Abu Sayeeda in east Baquba.

U.S. and Iraqi officials have warned of the dangers of an upsurge in violence if negotiations on forming a new governing coalition continue to drag on.

More than four months after a March 7 general election, which gave no single bloc an overall parliamentary majority, the two lists which won most seats are still bickering over who should be the next prime minister.
