At Least 60 Killed In India Train Collision

Officials say more than 60 people have been killed and more than 100 injured when two passenger trains collided in eastern India.

The accident occurred when a speeding train slammed into a stationary train at a station in the town of Sainthia, in West Bengal state.

West Bengal Civil Defense Minister Srikumar Mukherjee said the train crash was caused by negligence, not sabotage.

It was the second major train accident in West Bengal this year.

In May, at least 145 people were killed in a crash authorities blamed on sabotage by Maoist rebels.

The Maoists denied the charge.
