Blasts In Eastern Pakistan City Kill 48

Two blasts at a market in eastern Pakistan have killed up to 48 people.

More than 100 people were also injured late on December 7 in the bombings in Lahore.

President Asif Ali Zardari said such cowardly acts of terrorism would not deter the government's resolve to fight terrorism.

Meanwhile, a U.S. missile strike early on December 8 killed at least three people in a troubled northwestern tribal region near the Afghan border.
