China Cancels Norway Meeting After Nobel Peace Award

Chinese officials have canceled a meeting with a Norwegian minister after the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the Peace Prize to jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo.

Norwegian authorities said Fisheries Minister Lisbeth Berg-Hansen was already in China today when the planned October 13 meeting with a Chinese vice minister of agriculture was canceled.

China has reacted angrily to the awarding of the peace prize to Liu and warned that it could hurt relations with Norway.

Norway and China are the world's top two fish exporters.
