Beijing has confirmed it has renewed Google's license to operate in China.
The move comes after the U.S. Internet giant last month agreed to stop automatically redirecting users of its China search site to its uncensored site in Hong Kong.
The company that operates Google's websites in China, Guxiang, was on a list of hundreds of companies whose licenses were renewed that was posted on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's website.
Users of Google's China search site now have to make one extra click to access unfiltered search engine results through the Hong Kong site.
