Johnny Depp Gets Statue In Serbia

A statue of the U.S. actor Johnny Depp has been unveiled in Serbia.

The U.S. film star had a statue in his image unveiled to him by renowned Serbian director Emir Kusturica during an annual film festival -- called Kustendorf -- held in a mountain village in southwestern Serbia.

Kusturica, a two-time Cannes Film Festival winner, said he plans to make a movie with Depp playing legendary Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa.

Depp is the second Hollywood star to get a statue in ex-Yugoslavia, after martial arts superstar Bruce Lee's statue was unveiled in 2005 in the Bosnian city of Mostar.

The statue has definitely taken a few years off, immortalizing the "Edward Scissorhands" era-Depp. Still doesn't beat the Frank Zappa statue in Vilnius though.
