Dozens of people have been killed and many more were injured in a train collision in Indonesia's central Java province.
A local hospital put the number of dead at at least 36 after the early morning incident, which took place at Petarukan train station, Pemalang, on the north coast of Central Java.
Televised scenes showed overturned and mangled carriages as authorities and residents used bamboo poles to remove bodies and trapped passengers.
Indonesia's aging infrastructure, including roads, power plants, railways, and airports, is said to need billions of dollars of investment.
The head of a local search and rescue unit said it was possible "additional victims" were still trapped in the wreckage.
