Mohammad Reza Shajarian, a popular classical singer, has objected to Iranian state television playing his songs without his agreement.
In recent days, state television has repeatedly played Shajarian's song, “O’ Iran, O’ My Home.”
“I already announced in 1995 that I do not agree with state television playing my songs," Shajarian said in a statement.
"I emphasis again that state television has no right to play my music without my permission, that state television has not cooperated in the production of my songs, therefore according to law and Shari'a they are not allowed to play my music."
