G8 Foreign Ministers To Focus On Iran Sanctions

Foreign ministers of the Group of Eight (G8) leading industrialized nations are meeting in Canada for talks expected to focus on Iran's controversial nuclear program.

The two-day meeting in the Quebec town of Gatineau comes as the United States leads efforts to impose a fourth round of UN Security Council sanctions against Iran but needs the agreement of China.

Last week, a senior Chinese official took part in a conference call with five other world powers to discuss more sanctions but no deal emerged.

Tehran rejects Western charges its nuclear program is working to develop a nuclear weapons.
