French teacher Clotilde Reiss, who was accused by Iranian authorities of spying, has been released and is being flown back to France today.
Reiss, 24, was arrested for allegedly taking part in demonstrations that followed last June's presidential elections in Iran.
Her lawyer Mohammad Ali Mahdavi Sabet said yesterday that a court had issued a ruling allowing Reiss to leave Iran after paying a fine of some $285,000.
The French president's office released a statement earlier today saying Reiss had already boarded a plane in Dubai and was on route to Paris.
Reiss' arrest raised tensions between France and Iran.
