Iran Reportedly Hangs Five For Bombings

The executions were reportedly carried out at Tehran's Evin Prison

Five people, including one woman, were reportedly hanged today in Tehran for having carried out a series of "terrorist acts."

Iran's official news agency IRNA quoted the Tehran prosecutor's office as saying the five were members of "anti-revolutionary" groups and hanged in the Evin Prison.

It said they had been convicted of "carrying out terrorist acts, including bombings of government centers and public properties in several Iranian cities."

The statement gave the names of the executed convicts, Shirin Alamhouli, Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heidarian, Farhad Vakili, and Mehdi Eslamian.

Four of them belonged to Iran's Kurdish minority.
