Moldova's president and the leader of the country's separatist Transdniester region are scheduled to meet on December 24.
The meeting between Vladimir Voronin and Igor Smirnov is to take place in Tiraspol, the main city of the breakaway region.
The two leaders last met in April after a seven-year break from talks on the status of Transdniester, where pro-Russian separatists fought a brief war and declared independence from Molodova in the early 1990s.
Their independence however is not recognized by any other government.
