MOSCOW -- A job fair will be held in Moscow to help find work for some of the 10,000 people expected to be unemployed by a nationwide closing of casinos and gambling houses on July 1, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Moscow's Labor and Employment Department said the job fair later this month is being held in the Russian capital because some 4,000 Muscovites are expected to lose their jobs because of the closures.

A bill passed by the Russian Duma will close all casinos and gambling houses in the country at the end of this month, only allowing them to operate in four special zones in Russia.
