Pakistan has reportedly rejected a U.S. request to expand the zone where American missiles can target Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants.

A spokesman for Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, Abdul Basit, today told the AFP news agency that Pakistan would "never allow" Washington to widen strikes into more populated regions.

"The Washington Post" reported on November 19 that the United States was seeking to expand the areas inside Pakistan where U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) aircraft can operate.
