Pakistani police say they have arrested a U.S. citizen who claims to have been on a mission to kill Osama bin Laden.
The man, identified as Gary Faulkner, a 52-year-old Californian, was detained in a forest in the Chitral district of northern Pakistan. He was said to have been armed with a pistol, a dagger, a sword, and night-vision equipment.
Pakistani media reports say he told authorities that he was heading for the Afghan province of Nuristan.
Police say the man has no connection to the U.S. armed forces. He is being questioned by intelligence officials.
