Russian police say three militants were killed in a shoot-out in the country's volatile republic of Daghestan.
The spokesman for the region's Interior Ministry, Vyacheslav Gasanov, said one of the militants killed was reportedly tied to a high-profile suicide car bombing in September that killed four soldiers.
Daghestan, the North Caucasus' most populous region and a known haven for militants, has seen a rise in violence in recent months.
