KAZAN, Tatarstan -- Prominent Russian pop star Alsu will present her new disc, sung in the Tatar language, in Kazan on December 10, RFE/RL's Tatar-Bashkir Service reports.
Alsu's new album is called "Tugan Tel" (Mother Tongue) and includes well-known Tatar national songs. The singer has taken part in many international song festivals.
The "Tugan Tel" album will be the first disc in her native language, Tatar, as she normally sings in Russian.
Alsu lives with her family in London. She is the daughter of Russian oil businessman Ralif Safin, a former Russian Duma deputy.
