A series of car bombs and other attacks around a Shi'ite neighborhood in Baghdad has killed a least 50 people and injured more than 100.
Three bombs exploded near Shi'ite mosques during Friday prayers, one at a marketplace, and one close to the political office of radical Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.
The bombings followed a string of blows against Al-Qaeda by Iraqi security forces in recent days.
The bombings in Baghdad came after earlier today a series of roadside bombs killed seven people in Anbar province west of Baghdad.
