At least 10 people were killed today when a helicopter carrying snowboarders was hit by an avalanche after landing on a ski slope in Russia's Far East.
Irina Andrianova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said the helicopter was carrying 18 people including tourists from Germany and Belgium.
It had landed on a ski slope in Russia's Kamchatka region when the avalanche struck.
Five Russians and five Germans were believed to be among the dead.
