BAGHDAD -- Iraqi security forces say that three people were killed and a police officer was kidnapped in a series of attacks in different areas of Iraq today.
In the northern city of Kirkuk, police said two people were killed when a bomb they were creating exploded. In a separate incident in Kirkuk, police said gunmen driving in a civilian car opened fire on a member of Kurdish security forces, leaving him dead and fleeing the area.
Security sources also said that unknown gunmen kidnapped a police officer from his home in the city of Rawa, around 280 kilometers west of Baghdad.
