Turkish Soldiers Enter Iraq, Kill Four Kurdish Rebels

Turkish soldiers today crossed into northern Iraq in pursuit of Kurdish rebels who allegedly attacked border guards.

Turkey's Army said in a statement that it killed four militants.

The statement said the crossborder operation by commandos and Special Forces units came after rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party fled into northern Iraq following an attack on guards at the Iraqi frontier.

It said the operation took place "at the border and two to three kilometers" inside Iraqi territory.
