TASHKENT -- Uzbek authorities have said a man blew himself up in the city of Andijon, killing one policeman, RFE/RL's Uzbek Service reported.
A statement carried by official news agency UzA quoted the Uzbek Prosecutor-General's Office as saying the May 26 attack injured "several others."
No further details were immediately available, and the information could not be independently verified.
The reported suicide bombing came hours after unidentified gunmen attacked a border post on the border with Kyrgyzstan earlier in the day.
Andijon was the site of a 2005 uprising that led to a bloody crackdown by Uzbek authorities that sparked widespread condemnation in the West.
