A blast in Afghanistan's eastern Khost Province has killed at least 17 people and wounded more than 40. The explosion was caused by a suicide bomber detonating his device while standing in a crowd of people, who had gathered to take part in a protest against the provincial governor. There has been no let-up in attacks following the formal end of the NATO and U.S. combat mission in Afghanistan in December. (Reuters)
