A truck crash in northwestern Afghanistan has killed 33 people and injured 13 others.
Local officials said the incident happened in the Ab Kamari district of the Badghis Province late on August 16.
Provincial government spokesman Mirwais Mirzakwal said the truck -- loaded with people and animals -- was traveling through a mountainous area when it crashed.
Mirzakwal said there were women and children among the victims.
Such incidents are common in Afghanistan, where roads are not well maintained, and drivers do not always follow safe driving practices.
