Officials say a bomb exploded in a school in eastern Afghanistan today, killing the principal and injuring two teachers.
The attack occurred on the outskirts of Jalalabad, in Nangarhar Province.
The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack on the school, which teaches boys. Militant Islamists are known to attack schools, especially those that teach girls.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Langham Province, a former head of the provincial council was killed when his vehicle was blown up by a roadside bomb. A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed responsibility for that attack.
