Afghan Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum has survived an ambush by suspected Taliban fighters in northern Afghanistan.
Insurgents attacked Dostum's convoy on a remote highway in Faryab Province on August 21.
An aide told RFE/RL that Dostum's men fought back, killing four militants and capturing seven more.
Dostum was not injured in the attack, nor were any of his guards.
No further details were immediately available.
In an interview with RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan on August 20, Dostum claimed that Afghan forces had cleared the area of militants during a 10-day-long operation.
