KABUL -- Authorities in the eastern Afghan province of Nuristan say U.S. drone attacks have inflicted more than 30 casualties on suspected militants.
It is not clear how many of those hit by the missiles were killed or wounded.
The casualties are said to include both Afghan and Pakistani Taliban fighters.
Nuristan Province security chief Ghulamullah Nooristani told RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan that two remotely operated aircraft targeted armed insurgents in the remote region's Bazgal Gorge on January 21.
The U.S. military had no immediate comment on the reported incident.
