Seven Reported Dead In Afghan Mosque Explosion

Officials say at least seven people were killed in a late-night bomb attack on a mosque in eastern Afghanistan.

According to local officials, the blast came shortly after a convoy of international and Afghan security forces killed four insurgents in Wardak Province on January 12.

The explosion came after the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) team left the area, according to an ISAF spokesman.

A Taliban spokesman said the mosque was struck by two air strikes launched by "American forces."

The ISAF spokesman said no aircraft were used in the ISAF operation.
