Five Taliban Militants Killed In Attack On Afghan Police Compound

In Jalalabad, eastern Afghanistan, security forces surrounded a police compound after an overnight battle with Taliban militants. Officials said that a suicide car bomber drove into the gate of the compound, after which militants stormed the facility. The bomb attack and the gun battle that followed left at least five militants dead and nine police officers wounded. (RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan)
